Hundreds protest DeBary's plans to build on conservation lands
May 15, 2016 - DEBARY - More than 200 people showed up on a hot Saturday morning to protest a city of DeBary proposal to add more than 100 acres of conservation land to its plans for a development around the SunRail station.

Folk Festival draws thousands to White Springs
Jun 1, 2015 - The 63rd Annual Florida Folk Festival kicked off Friday afternoon, May 22, with the traditional sponsor's reception inside the Stephen Foster Museum, followed by opening night ceremonies at the amphitheater. This year, the weather cooperated nicely throughout the entire Memorial Day weekend.

But as lawmakers prepare to negotiate details of the new state budget, debate continues over whether more money from Florida's land and water conservation amendment should go toward buying property for conservation.
